Exactly today last month, Caroline passed away! We remember her death by sharing this video, made with love from your #CarolineHero photos and a song from Bonita and Adoy. Please share !!!
In Memoriam
It has been one month since the loss of a little
baby girl. She passed on early in the
morning, and was quickly and quietly buried.
There were no grieving parents or sad relatives, the gravesite only
known to a few. Not even a death certificate
exists as no doctors had been asked to see her.
Just an unknown child at a small orphanage in a metropolis of
millions. The world moved on …or did it?
This time something different happened,
people had noticed that a little baby girl was gone. “Where is Caroline,” they asked. She had not been forgotten, but was indeed
greatly missed. These may not have been
relatives, or family in the traditional sense, they were just people like you
and me that had taken a little time out of their lives to show some interest in
a group of orphans.
Caroline’s home was the Samuel Orphanage inTanggerang,
Indonesia. What Caroline’s new friends
had found was an inexcusable case of neglect and mismanagement so they
proceeded to investigate the situation and figure out how they could help. They learned that a few others had tried
before during the fourteen years that the orphanage had existed, but nothing
had come from it. It was frustrating so
they continued to visit the orphanage, document what they saw, and reach out to
people that might be able to help.
It was during this time that Caroline passed. Her loss saddened everyone but galvanized them
into action. Caroline’s death was the
cry for help that finally caught everyone’s attention. Her sacrifice garnered the support that her
fellow orphans had needed and led to their rescue. She became their hero, our hero; a reminder
of the costs of apathy but also a symbol of the positive changes people can
make when they come together in the aid of others.
Caroline has given us a chance at
redemption, a glimmer of hope in a world desensitized to loss and cruelty. She symbolizes other abused and neglected
children, giving them a platform and voice.
She has empowered us to make a difference. Please join in and spread her story in hopes
that we can prevent the same tragedy from repeating itself.
Respectfully,
#CarolineHero
